The biggest congress about the state of art in Conservative Dentistry and present their latest scientific research
President’s welcome
Dear Colleagues and Distinguished Participants of the 12th CONSEURO,
As the president of this esteemed event, it is my privilege to extend the warmest welcome to the 12th CONSEURO and the 25th National and 12th International SEOC Congress, which will be held in the historic and captivating city of Córdoba from April 3rd to 5th, 2025. This year, we are honored to host this congress in collaboration with the European Federation of Conservative Dentistry (EFCD).
CONSEURO presents a unique opportunity for us to unite as a professional community, bringing together dentists, researchers, academics, and oral health experts from all across Europe. Over these three days, we will immerse ourselves in a stimulating environment where innovation, collaboration, and mutual learning will be the cornerstones of our gathering. Together, we will explore the latest advances in conservative and aesthetic dentistry, share knowledge, and build valuable connections that will enrich our practices.
The scientific program, carefully crafted for this edition, covers cutting-edge topics, ranging from innovative diagnostic and treatment techniques to discussions on ethics and management in dental practice. I am confident you will find sessions that will inspire you and provide valuable tools for your professional and clinical development.
One of the novelties of this meeting is the Faculty Meeting of the European Federation of Conservative Dentistry, held in conjunction with the 3rd Meeting of Conservative Dentistry Professors. The meeting will be on Thursday, April 3rd, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We hope you will be present for this event, which will serve as a prelude to the congress itself, starting at 3:00 p.m.
The Faculty Meeting will be chaired by Drs. Niek Opdam and Miguel Roig, who will lead a session on “Deep Margin Elevation. Where is the Limit?”
Not only have we prepared a wide variety of academic activities, but also social events and networking opportunities that will allow you to interact, share experiences, and strengthen lasting professional ties. CONSEURO is more than just a congress; it is a platform for collective growth where each participant contributes their unique vision and knowledge.
On behalf of the CONSEURO organizing committee and all those who have worked diligently to bring this event to fruition, I sincerely thank you for your participation and contribution to the success of this congress.
Welcome to CONSEURO CÓRDOBA 2025! We look forward to your active participation to make this edition unforgettable.
Best regards,
Francesc Abella Sans

Deep Margin elevation, to be included in our curriculum?
One of the latest trends in dentistry is the propagation of Deep Margin elevation (DME) DME was introduced by Magne et al. as a technique to control moisture contamination for deep subgingival indirect adhesive restorations: bring up the cervical restoration outline supragingivally using a matrix and composite to be able to cement an indirect restoration with good moisture control. However, the term DME is now used for all type of restorative techniques, as even direct restorations with a first layer of glass-ionomer cement cervically (traditionally named ’open sandwich’ are now advocated as DME).
This brings up the following discussion points:
1. What is DME, what materials and techniques are used
2. Is there any scientific evidence that DME works better then alternative techniques
3. How are we dealing with (large) subgingival direct and indirect restorations?
4. How do we teach subgingival adhesive restorations in the curricula?
The session will be introduced by several speakers providing a short intro on how they define and practice DME and subgingival restorations. Then there will be a split-up in workgroups provided with specific questions to discuss and finally a general discussion will
try to conclude what the present status of DME is in our curricula.
